As Denver City President, Krusoe will lead BBVA Compass' Commercial Banking activities, including Middle Market Commercial and Specialty Lending businesses. Krusoe's previous banking experience, which includes Large Corporate Finance, Debt & Equity Placements and Mergers and Acquisitions, will provide considerable expertise and leadership in his role as Denver City President.
"John has quite literally grown up in Commercial Banking," said Ron Smith, Western Region Executive. "His wealth of knowledge and experience across a broad range of business lines is extremely deep, which will serve the Denver market well. I look forward to John continuing the work that Rafael initiated and giving BBVA Compass an even larger share of the market in Colorado."
Originally from Michigan, Krusoe graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. Upon graduation, Krusoe held increasingly responsible positions in Corporate and Commercial banking, particularly at RBC Bank U.S. headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. There he rose from SVP and Regional Manager for Commercial Markets (2000 – 2003) to EVP and Managing Director (2003 – 2006) and finally, President of Commercial and Corporate Banking Strategy (2006 – 2008). Krusoe arrived at BBVA Compass in July of 2008, where he was appointed the Denver area SVP and Manager for Large Corporate Banking, a position he held until assuming the post of Denver City President.
Krusoe and wife Paige are the parents of three children, Abigail, Mitchell and Isabella.
