SEATTLE, June 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ProQuest has named John "JG" Chirapurath as its new Senior Vice President and General Manager of ProQuest Workflow Solutions. In this role, Mr. Chirapurath will lead strategic development of the company's technology business that focuses on empowering academic researchers with solutions that improve research outcomes, and providing librarians with transformative cloud-based workflow solutions that enable the library to deliver greater value to their institutions.

Mr. Chirapurath comes to ProQuest with more than 15 years of progressive experience in technology companies—from start-ups to Fortune 50 organizations. Most recently he was Vice President and General Manager of Hewlett Packard's Application Lifecycle Management business. Other cross-functional leadership positions include Senior Director at two different business units at Microsoft. He also co-founded Sarvega, a pioneer of intelligent data center switches. As Vice President, Co-Founder and Board Member, he was instrumental in scaling the business and helping lead the acquisition of Sarvega by Intel Corporation.

Mr. Chirapurath holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. He is based in ProQuest's Seattle office.
