John Hancock Retirement Plan Services celebrates second annual National TPA Day® today
Annual day of recognition highlights contributions of plan consultants (TPAs) to the retirement plan industry
BOSTON, Oct. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- John Hancock has declared today the second annual National TPA Day®, a celebration the company established last year to recognize the contributions and expertise of plan consultants (often known as third party administrators, or TPAs), and to educate financial advisors and plan sponsors on the many benefits of working with a TPA.
"National TPA Day is an opportunity for us to recognize the unique value, local expertise, and high-touch service TPAs deliver to the industry," said Patrick Murphy, president, John Hancock Retirement Plan Services. "We created this annual celebration to thank TPAs for their ongoing partnership."
Plan consultants (TPAs) offer compliance expertise, helping to ensure ongoing plan compliance obligations are met. They also provide customer service and administration to help with retention, and they keep plan sponsors informed of legislative and regulatory changes.
John Hancock celebrates National TPA Day annually on the first business day following the final Form 5500* filing deadline. This year, the filing deadline fell on Monday, Oct. 17, making today - Tuesday, Oct. 18 - National TPA Day.
To promote National TPA Day, John Hancock created an advertising campaign focused on important trade news sources. To view a sample print ad, click here. Online ads are also appearing today in NAPA Net Daily, PLANADVISER Dash and PLANSPONSOR Newsdash emails, and on the planadviser.com and plansponsor.com home pages.
"As a strong advocate of the TPA model, John Hancock is dedicated to helping sustain and promote the TPA industry," said Ann Slotwinski, vice president, TPA Services, John Hancock Retirement Plan Services. "Financial advisors, plan sponsors, and recordkeepers like John Hancock rely on the expertise of TPAs, particularly when it comes to designing customized plan solutions to improve outcomes for participants."
