John Hancock Financial Network Announces New Managing Partners in Columbus Office

BOSTON, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- John Hancock Financial Network (JHFN) announced that Michael Sekara, CLU, ChFC, managing partner of the JHFN-Sekara Office in Columbus, OH, will be succeeded by Sandra Horvath, MBA, CLU, and Scott W. Armstrong. Sekara, who will stay involved in the firm through personal production, selected Horvath and Armstrong and will supervise the transition of responsibilities to them over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition for associates of the firm as well as clients.

Under Sekara's leadership, the Columbus Sekara office grew to be one of the most successful regional firms within JHFN's national network. It has led JHFN in investment sales for the past 20 years and has won the JHFN's highest honor as well as the GAMA Master Agency Award. The firm has a strong presence and branch office locations throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and West Virginia.  

Sandra Horvath, who began with the firm 19 years ago as a personal producer, has spent the last 13 years overseeing all supervisory and operational functions of the firm. As a managing partner, her focus will be developing and managing the overall strategy and direction of the firm and ensuring that the infrastructure effectively supports their financial associates and clients. Horvath graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor degree in Business, and received her MBA in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance in 1991.

Armstrong is a 24 year veteran with a proven track record in sales and management. He has developed a strong reputation for his experience in working with owners of closely-held businesses. As a managing partner, his considerable knowledge and contacts will be invaluable to the organization to increase joint work opportunities among associates as well as recruiting financial advisors interested in building successful practices. Armstrong is a graduate of Ohio State University, with a degree in economics.
