John Hancock Annuities Wins Two Awards for Retirement Talk®
BOSTON, June 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The John Hancock Annuities Retirement Talk® client-education program has received two awards from the Web Marketing Association (WMA). The WMA recognized the Retirement Talk online video as "Best Financial Services Online Video," and the Retirement Talk micro-site, www.jhretirementtalk.com, for "Outstanding Website."
"Our Retirement Talk programs help individuals planning for retirement understand the role of annuities in their portfolios, while minimizing typical technical jargon in favor of simple discussions presented in everyday terms," said Tom Mullen, Chief Marketing Officer, John Hancock Annuities. "Advisors and investors are responding favorably, saying they appreciate our efforts to de-mystify annuities. On behalf of the entire team at John Hancock, I'd like to thank the WMA for also recognizing our efforts."
The awards, given during the WMA's annual Internet Advertising Competition (IAC), honor the best online advertising and marketing initiatives, and recognize the individuals and organizations responsible for developing the tools. The annual IAC Awards are determined from seven categories and span 86 separate industries.
About the Web Marketing Association
The Web Marketing Association (WMA) was founded in Boston in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate web development on the World Wide Web. Staffed by volunteers, this organization is made up of Internet marketing, advertising, PR, and design professionals who share an interest for improving the quality of advertising, marketing, and promotion used to attract visitors to corporate Web sites. The Web Marketing Association is the producer of the WebAwards, an annual award competition that is designed to judge corporate Web sites against an Internet standard and against peer sites within their industry. Now in its 15th year, the WebAward Competition has become the premier event for web developers and marketers each year. While some of the other advertising competitions have categories for banner ads, no one had developed an entire competition solely to recognize online advertising by industry—until the WMA created the IAC Awards in 1999.
