John Dixon Multi-Seller Auction gets Real Estate Sold for Funds, Individuals
ATLANTA, March 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The auctions that took place in the John Dixon & Associates offices in Marietta this week may have looked a lot like the bank auctions the company has been conducting for years, but there was a huge difference: The auction featured properties from some 20 sellers from all over the country.
Scores of bidders competed for a wide range of real estate, including homes, land and commercial properties, and by the end of the second day, $2 million worth of real estate had changed hands.
"Bidders this week didn't much care if they were purchasing from a hedge fund in California, a trust in New York or a guy selling his own home locally. But in truth, we had about 20 different sellers offering properties, and you're going to see more of that in the future," said John Dixon, president of the auction company.
The auctions drew another 140 bidders who either attended live or watched the proceedings and bid online. "We're still doing auctions for banks and other owners of portfolios, and we always will. But there are also a lot of property owners who don't want to sell 60 properties. They're looking to sell one or two or maybe a half dozen. Multi-Seller auctions like these let us spread the costs among the various sellers," said Dixon.
Most properties sold this week were in Georgia, but Dixon noted that future sales can include properties virtually anywhere.
"We auction properties in 20 states or more every year. If there's a concentration of properties in another region, we'll probably hold the live part there, but the nature of real estate investing is that in any given region, you'll have property owners from all over," said Dixon
The company is currently organizing its next Multi-Seller auction, set for May. Those interested in selling properties in that event may visit www.johndixon.com or call 800-479-1763.
