John Bernbach Named Chairman Of Ai Media Group
Agency Veteran Will Work With Company Execs To Focus on Attribution Expansion
NEW YORK, March 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ai Media Group, the full service end-to-end solution digital media and technology company, today announced the appointment of advertising veteran John Bernbach to Chairman of the Board.
Bernbach's appointment comes three months after Blackstone announced a minority investment in Ai Media Group. Bernbach currently serves as an advisor to Blackstone.
As Chairman, Bernbach will work with top leadership at Ai Media Group on developing and executing growth strategies and creating new service offerings for the award-winning media and technology business.
"We are thrilled that John Bernbach has joined the board of Ai Media Group," said Viral Patel, Managing Director, Tactical Opportunities at Blackstone. "John has been at the forefront of media and communications innovation throughout his entire career and we trust him to bring his invaluable experience and judgment to support the growth of Ai Media Group."
Ai Media Group COO Sergio Alvarez added: "After spending years building and perfecting our technology and services we will now focus on expanding our full channel attribution methodology, which has placed our company in the top tier of digital agencies. John's extensive background and leadership skills—coupled with the recent Blackstone investment—will help us grow our base while delivering more valuable and strategic results to our clients."
Ai Media Group's proprietary platforms and tracking tools help clients including Time Warner Cable, FIFA World Cup, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Ferrari NA, among others, understand in real-time specific details of the online customer journey, from first online exposure all the way to final purchase.
Bernbach is CEO of The Bernbach Group, a business consulting firm. Prior to July 2015, he served as Vice Chairman of Engine, a privately-owned independent marketing services company, which he joined in January 2010. He was also a co-founder of NTM (Not Traditional Media) Inc., a marketing and media advisory firm created in 2003 to work with clients and media companies to develop strategies integrating nontraditional marketing solutions and new media models.
Twenty-seven of Bernbach's 40-plus years in the advertising business were spent at Doyle Dane Bernbach, the last eight as President/COO of DDB Needham Worldwide. In 1986, he was instrumental in leading Doyle Dane Bernbach into a merger with Needham Harper Worldwide and BBDO and helping to create the Omnicom Group, the largest, most profitable communications group in the world at that time. He also served on the board as one of Omnicom's five founding directors. While at Omnicom, he ran all of the domestic and international operations for the newly-created DDB Needham.
"I admire what Ai Media Group is able to do, their ability to understand and find deeper connections between brands and consumers," said Bernbach. "They are able to understand the customer journey better than any media company out there that I've seen, and I'm thrilled to play a part of their future growth."
