John Benziger Named DC Regional Managing Principal for Cassidy Turley

WASHINGTON, Jan. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cassidy Turley, a leading commercial real estate services provider in the U.S., announced today that John Benziger has been named Regional Managing Principal for Cassidy Turley in the DC Metro Region.

In his new role, Mr. Benziger will focus on enhancing Cassidy Turley's commercial real estate services in the Metro DC Region and leading the region's more than 400 professionals. He will assume responsibility for the overall strategic focus, growth and profitability of the business unit, which includes offices in Washington, DC; Tysons Corner, VA; and Bethesda, MD. The new appointment returns Mr. Benziger to Cassidy Turley. From 1984 to 2002, he served as a top broker with Cassidy & Pinkard, a Cassidy Turley predecessor firm.

Mr. Benziger takes the reins of one of the most successful commercial real estate services organizations in the region. The firm perennially is among the top leasing, property management, investment sales and financing firms in Metro DC, and was named the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors' (GWCAR) Top Leasing and Top Sales and Financing Firm of the Year for the past two years. Cassidy Turley also was recognized by The National Law Journal & Legal Times as the No. 1 tenant representation and property management firm in DC and is consistently recognized as a top full-service provider by the Washington Business Journal. Additionally, Cassidy Turley in DC was named 2012 Member Company of the Year by the National Capital Region chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Mr. Benziger assumes the role formerly held by Joseph Stettinius, who was named Cassidy Turley CEO in October 2012 and, while President of the firm from 2008 to 2012, also led the DC Metro Region.

Mr. Benziger joins Cassidy Turley from Lincoln Property Co., where he was Senior Vice President and managed Lincoln's DC leasing efforts, representing tenants, local developers and institutional owners in the leasing, purchase, marketing and sale of commercial property throughout the region. His tenant-representation experience includes the exclusive representation of associations and law firms in negotiation of office and industrial build-to-suits and the negotiation of office building acquisitions for tenant clients. His owner-representation experience includes the pre-lease marketing of proposed office buildings and reposition-marketing of existing and renovated buildings.

Mr. Benziger is a graduate of Princeton University. He serves on the District of Columbia Building Industry Association Programming Committee and is licensed in Maryland, Virginia and DC. Mr. Benziger is a recipient of the GWCAR's Sales Transaction of the Year, Leasing Transaction of the Year and Life Member awards.
