Joel McHale To Host The 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards
Jennifer Hudson And Michael C. Hall Slated To Perform
The 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards in collaboration with Swarovski will take place on June 6th at the Hammerstein Ballroom
NEW YORK, May 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Joel McHale will host the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday, June 6th at the Hammerstein Ballroom. McHale is an American comedian, actor, writer, television producer, and television host. He is known for having hosted the E! network's The Soup for twelve years, starring on NBC's Community, author of Thanks for the Money: How to Use My Life Story to Become the Best Joel McHale You Can Be –– available this fall –– and is set to star in CBS's comedy The Great Indoors.
"His experience as a host, an actor, a comedian and someone who comes from outside the fashion industry will keep the night lively, topical, and unexpected," said Steven Kolb, President and Chief Executive Officer of the CFDA.
McHale joins the evening's nominees and honorees at the dynamic event, which will include a seated dinner and live performances from Jennifer Hudson and Michael C. Hall. Michael C. Hall, actor and star of Ivo van Hove's Lazarus, will perform a song to commemorate the extraordinary legacy and style of David Bowie, recipient of the Board of Directors' Tribute award. Actress Tilda Swinton will be accepting the award on behalf of the late artist. The evening will close with a special performance by Grammy Award-winning recording artist and Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson.
