In addition to her position with the publishing company, Jo owns a farm with her husband, where they grow strawberries, blueberries, apples, and peaches. She maintains affiliation with the National Association of Professional Women, and is charitable towards her local Chamber of Commerce, Books for Troops, Goodwill, and Salvation Army organizations.
