JNBridge Expands Cross-Platform Java And .NET Connection Tool To Include Mono
JNBridgePro 7.0 enables the .NET-side to reside on Linux or Windows machines
BOULDER, Colo., Feb. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- JNBridge, (www.jnbridge.com), a leading provider of interoperability tools that connect the Java and .NET Frameworks both on the ground and in the cloud, today announced the release of JNBridgePro 7.0, with support for Mono, the open source implementation of Microsoft's .NET Framework. Details of the announcement are available on (http://www.jnbridge.com/jn/?p=1594). Using JNBridgePro 7.0, developers can create applications that integrate Java and .NET components, and deploy them on Linux or Windows machines: the .NET-side is no longer restricted to just Windows.
"With the added capabilities in JNBridgePro 7.0, JNBridge provides new options for developers to target multiple platforms from a single code base," said Al Hilwa, senior analyst at IDC. "JNBridge continues to set the standard in supporting Java and .NET interoperability as they now address providing Mono support on Linux."
JNBridgePro connects Java and .NET Framework-based components and applications together with simple-to-use Visual Studio and Eclipse plug-ins that remove the complexities of cross-platform interoperability. By adding support for Mono, JNBridgePro 7.0 enables the resulting applications to run solely on Linux machines – no longer is the .NET-side tied to just Windows platforms.
"A classic use case for Mono is to migrate an ASP.NET Web application from a Windows Server to a Linux server," said Wayne Citrin, CTO of JNBridge. "With JNBridgePro 7.0, developers now can complete the puzzle by enabling their ASP.NET application running on Linux to access enterprise Java systems such as WebLogic, WebSphere, or Java-based content management systems. This is just one example where developers can integrate .NET with enterprise Java, yet avoid Windows lock-in for their application deployment."
In addition to support for Mono, JNBridgePro 7.0 now provides a single installer for both 32 and 64-bit platforms, and enables developers to build combined applications that are "any-CPU," simplifying both the installation and application development and deployment processes.
