"Since 2005, ICF Global has honored outstanding organizational coaching through our Prism Award program. By creating and sustaining coaching programs that yield measurable positive impacts, fulfill rigorous standards, address key strategic goals and shape organizational culture, Prism honorees demonstrate the limitless possibilities unleashed by professional coaching," said 2014 ICF Global Chair Damian Goldvarg, Ph.D., MCC.
Headquartered in Delhi, India, J.K. Organisation is the first Asian business to win an International Prism Award. J.K. was founded in the early 20th century and maintains a diverse industrial portfolio, participating in the manufacture, sale and service of products including tires, industrial supplies, cement, and dairy and agricultural products. Since 2008, J.K. has offered Executive Coaching to senior leaders, while a recently implemented training program for internal coaches aims to produce a cadre of 200 professional coach practitioners by 2019.
"Coaching has provided a common language that is gaining popularity in the workplace as it creates new learning and sets people up for success," said Dilep Misra, ACC, J.K.'s President of Corporate Human Resources.
Coaching has helped leaders navigate India's growing generation gap by moving them away from command-and-control leadership to a more collaborative, respectful approach. Since J.K. began offering coaching within four of its companies, revenue has grown by 105 percent, employee satisfaction has increased by 16 percent and attrition of high-potential employees has decreased by two percent.
J.K. was nominated for the Prism Award by Alan Meyne, PCC, Director of Coaching Lighthouse.
Based in Dayton, Ohio, USA, CareSource is a nonprofit organization that fills a unique niche in the health care industry. As one of the largest public-sector managed care companies in the United States, CareSource serves more than 1.3 million Medicaid- and Medicare-eligible consumers in Ohio and Kentucky. CareSource's Leadership Transition Coaching (LTC) program ensures that new leaders have the tools they need to rapidly adapt to their new roles and assimilate into the organization's culture.
"As a nonprofit, we put roughly 93 cents of every dollar back into our members' care," said Jaclyn A. Smith, vice president of the organization's training arm, CareSource University. "Yet, in the midst of all that, we've chosen to invest in coaching our leaders. Having an internal coaching program in our organization is that critical."
LTC has been credited with retaining several high-potential employees and leaders for a savings of $396,602 USD.
CareSource reports additional savings in leader and employee efficiency, overtime reduction, and avoidance of contracting/consulting fees, as well as a significant increase in employee engagement. In total, CareSource conservatively estimates a savings of $744,632 USD and a return on investment (ROI) of 211 percent over five years.
CareSource was nominated for the Prism Award by its coaching and mentoring manager, J. Matthew Becker, M.Ed., PCC.
