PALO ALTO, Calif., March 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Jive Software today announced the appointments of Charles (Chuck) Robel, former Chairman of the Board of McAfee (now part of Intel), David DeWalt, President of McAfee, Jonathan Heiliger, VP of Technical Operations at Facebook and Sundar Pichai, VP of Product Management at Google to its Board of Directors. Chuck Robel is currently the Lead Independent Director for Informatica Corporation, the leading independent provider of enterprise data integration and data quality software and services. He was previously the Chairman of the Board of McAfee prior to its $8 billion acquisition by Intel. In addition, Robel currently serves on the Board of Directors of Autodesk, DemandTec and several other privately held companies. He previously served as General Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, a $1 billion venture capital fund focused on early stage software company investments. Robel began his career as a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he managed numerous IPO's including Yahoo, Documentum, Hyperion (formerly Arbor Software), Borland, CBS MaketWatch, JD Edwards and Redback Networks.
David DeWalt has more than 20 years of experience building innovative, industry-leading technology companies. Since joining McAfee in 2007, DeWalt has guided the company through three consecutive years of growth, with a record $2.1 billion in revenue in 2010. On August 19, 2010, Intel agreed to purchase McAfee for $7.68 billion. Prior to joining McAfee, DeWalt was President of software, sales, and services at EMC, which he joined in 2003 through the company's acquisition of Documentum for $1.9 billion. As President and CEO of Documentum, DeWalt led the company through nine consecutive quarters of growth, five record revenue quarters, and four successful acquisitions. Prior to Documentum, DeWalt held executive-level positions at Eventus Software, Quest Software, Segue, and Oracle. He is currently Chairman of the Board at Polycom and has resided on other public company boards, including MatrixOne and Serena Software. Both companies concluded successful acquisitions by Dassault Systemes and Silver Lake, respectively. DeWalt received his bachelor's degree in computer science and electrical engineering from the University of Delaware, where he was also an accomplished wrestler and the first wrestler inducted into the University of Delaware Athletics Hall of Fame.
Jonathan Heiliger is the Vice President of Technical Operations at Facebook, reporting into Mark Zuckerberg, where he oversees global infrastructure and internal technology systems. Prior to Facebook, he was a technology advisor to several early-stage companies in connection with Index Ventures and Sequoia Capital. He formerly led the engineering team at Walmart.com, where he was responsible for infrastructure and building scalable systems. Jonathan also spent several years at Loudcloud (which became Opsware and was later acquired by HP) as the Chief Operating Officer. Earlier in his career, Jonathan was the Chief Technology Officer of Frontier GlobalCenter, and later founded Global Crossing's corporate venture capital group.
Sundar Pichai joined Google in 2004 and is currently Vice President of Product Management. He leads the product management and innovation efforts for a suite of Google's consumer products, including Google Toolbar, Chrome and Chrome OS. He is also responsible for the HTML5 and open web platform efforts at Google. Sundar brings more than 15 years of experience developing high-tech consumer and enterprise products. Before joining Google, he held various engineering and product management positions at Applied Materials, and was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company for a variety of software and semiconductor clients. Sundar received a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology and was awarded an Institute Silver Medal. He holds an M.S. from Stanford University and an MBA from the Wharton School, where he was named a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar.
