Jim Schmitt Named Managing Director of Expense Reduction Analysts in the U.S.
CARLSBAD, Calif., Nov. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Charles Howson, Group Chief Executive of Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA), has announced the appointment of Jim Schmitt as Managing Director of ERA in the United States. In his new position, said Howson, "Schmitt is the right person to lead and manage the growth of our U.S. operations."
ERA is a leading international cost-reduction consultancy operating in 30 countries. The company has 700 Consultants worldwide, including 230 experts throughout the U.S. ERA consultants use their industry knowledge and proprietary benchmark data to reduce overhead costs common to most $10 to $250 million businesses by an average of 20%.

He has been the Midwest Managing Director of ERA for the past seven years, leading one of the consultancy's most successful operations. Schmitt has more than 30 years of professional experience. He has been President of a $100 million dollar electrical distributor; the Partner-in-Charge of a CPA practice in Charlotte, NC; and is involved in a consultancy that assists owner-managed businesses maximize entity and exit value. He has served on the Boards of Directors for nonprofits as well as manufacturing and distribution companies. Currently, he serves on the Board of Clark College in Dubuque, IA, and is a member of the Cedar Rapids Downtown Rotary.
Schmitt is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and received his MBA from the University of Iowa.
The ERA-USA Support Center is in Carlsbad, CA, and Schmitt will manage ERA from his office near Cedar Rapids, IA.
