Jillian Birchmeier Receives Crawford's Greg Threet Memorial Scholarship
ATLANTA, June 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Crawford & Company (NYSE: CRDA; CRDB), the world's largest independent provider of claims management services, recently named Jillian M. Birchmeier, a sophomore majoring in finance at Morehead State University, as the fourth recipient of its Greg Threet Memorial Scholarship.
Birchmeier, from Findlay, Ohio, has been named to the dean's list every semester she has completed at Morehead State and maintains a 4.0 grade point average. As a member of the university's women's soccer team, she was named Freshman of the Year and Co-Offensive Player of the Year and tied a school record for goals in a single match. She was recognized as a scholar athlete during her freshman and sophomore years in college and all four years in high school and has volunteered at various youth soccer camps.
Birchmeier was highly recommended for the $2,500 annual scholarship by Sharon T. Walters, an associate professor of accounting in the College of Business and Public Affairs at Morehead State, located in Morehead, Ky.
The Greg Threet Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Greg Threet, an assistant branch manager in Crawford's U.S. Property & Casualty office in Lexington, Ky. Threet died in 2006 in an aircraft accident while flying to Atlanta to attend a leadership development class at Crawford's headquarters.
