Jill Vitiello to Present at 2014 Schering-Plough Executive Lecture Series at Fairleigh Dickinson University
How employee ambassador programs can break through information overload
NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J., Jan. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Jill Vitiello, founder and president of Vitiello Communications Group (VTLO), will deliver a lecture on Saturday, February 2 to the students of Fairleigh Dickinson University's Master of Arts in Corporate & Organizational Communication Program as part of the 2014 Schering-Plough Executive Lecture Series.
Jill's presentation, "Power to Your People: Building Community to Drive Communications," was chosen to launch the six-week lecture series that features communication professionals and scholars who discuss topics related to corporate and organizational communications. The theme of this year's series is "Communication Confluence: The Role of Media Convergence in Today's Corporate Communication Climate."
Jill will explore how the convergence and digitization of media results in information overload and forces communicators to find alternative ways to convey important messages throughout global organizations. Savvy leaders are acknowledging these trends by forming employee ambassador programs to reach busy workers in a meaningful way.
"I'm looking forward to talking with the students about the importance of human interaction in a successful communication program," said Jill. "In our practice, we've found that employees often feel overwhelmed by the amount of data they receive and the time it takes to process it. People look for connection and community as a means of filtering important information and being able to act on it. Employee ambassador programs can bring focus and credibility to organizations that understand the value of empowering their people."
