"We were excited to open voting to the public through the new 'People's Choice' CASE Award this year," says JA President & CEO David J. Bonaparte. "The CASE Awards showcase the talent and fine craftsmanship that jewelry shoppers can find at Jewelers of America-member stores nationwide."
All the winning jewelers are members of Jewelers of America, the national association for fine jewelry businesses. Jewelers of America-member jewelers are among the most reputable jewelers in the United States, backed by a commitment to Jewelers of America's Code of Professional Practices.
The winners, selected out of 58 entries from JA Retail Members, were determined by a judging panel of industry experts who evaluated the entries on the following criteria: overall design, marketability, practicality/wearability and quality of manufacture. The winners were: The Gem Vault in Flemington, NJ for their 14K white gold and Ethionpian opal jellyfish pendant and their 14K white gold and Brazilian Paraiba tourmaline necklace, both designed by Sharon Curtiss-Gal; Aucoin Hart Jewelers in Metairie, LA for their pearl, diamond and sapphire earrings designed by David White; and White & Ivory in Leesburg, VA for their 18K rose gold ring with black Australian doublet opal and blue sapphires designed by Avalina.
This year, JA debuted the "People's Choice" CASE Award, which was determined by the public voting at JA's website for their favorite jewelry piece. The contest, which ran from March 6-10, garnered over 4,500 votes. The winner of the "People's Choice CASE Award was Christian Caine Design in Shepherdstown, WV for their Milano© pendant in 14K rose gold with diamonds designed by Christopher Rankin.
The 2017 CASE Awards, sponsored by Synchrony Financial, was open only to JA Retail Members and their employees. For more information about the competition and to view the Winner's Photo Gallery, visit www.jewelers.org/caseawards.
