TAMPA, Fla., March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- BICSI, the international association supporting the information technology systems (ITS) industry with information, education and knowledge assessment, is pleased to announce that Jerry L. Bowman, RCDD, RTPM(i), NTS, CISSP, CPP, CSI, has taken on the position of BICSI President.

Bowman has served on the BICSI Board of Directors for six years prior to this new role, including the past two years as President-Elect. Throughout his 15 years of BICSI membership, he has been a member and Chair of several BICSI committees and was instrumental in the creation and implementation of BICSI's NxtGEN Program. In addition, he has contributed his time and efforts to several other industry associations and workgroups. Outside of this volunteer position with BICSI, he is the President and Chief Operating Officer for Beacon Enterprise Solutions Group, Inc. (OTCBB Stock Symbol: BEAC), an emerging global leader in the design, implementation and management of high performance ITS infrastructure solutions. At Beacon, Bowman is responsible for Sales, Global Account Management, along with all day-to-day operations and global service delivery. Bowman also oversees the strategic development and execution of the company's corporate business strategy which provides professional services to Fortune 1000 firms with multi-national and global enterprises.

During his tenure as BICSI President, Bowman is committed to prioritizing and focusing on core needs and growth within BICSI, as well as the ITS industry as a whole. His goals include ensuring the organization operates efficiently and consistently; integrating technology into the delivery of BICSI's curriculum, testing and publications; and implementing the BICSI Board of Directors Strategic Plan.
