Jennifer Morgan of SAP North America Joins GENYOUth Board of Directors
Morgan joins distinguished board of corporate, thought leader and public and private partners
NEW YORK, Nov. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- GENYOUth, a leading nonprofit dedicated to empowering America's youth to achieve a healthier future by uniting partners and uplifting the student voice, today announced that Jennifer Morgan, president of SAP North America, has been appointed to GENYOUth's distinguished board of directors; representing leaders from across various public sector organizations and private sector companies.
"We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Morgan to our Board," said GENYOUth's CEO, Alexis Glick. "SAP has helped GENYOUth set the standard for what a public private partnership should look and feel like. Beyond the tremendous financial commitment and collaboration to scale our social entrepreneurship program AdVenture Capital (AdCap), SAP employees bring their unique skills, mentorship and energy to bear to empower and uplift youth across the country both in person, and through the AdCap digital platform. Jennifer's exceptional leadership, expertise and personal belief in our collective mission makes her an asset to our organization."
Created by GENYOUth in 2012, AdVenture Capital (AdCap), provides funding, mentoring and experiential learning to support student-led solutions to improve health and wellness in schools and communities through an online social entrepreneurship platform, AdCapYOUth.org. Currently, SAP and GENYOUth are hosting a five-city nationwide tour called the "Social Innovation Series". These events provide students the opportunity to work with a mentor to use design thinking skills to develop an idea or project that improves their school or community, and pitch that concept to a panel of judges for funding. The top 10 winners from those five cities will be entered into a national competition where one student will be named SAP's Teen Innovator to be honored by SAP during Super Bowl 50 festivities in San Francisco.
"As a company with a mission to help the world run better and improve people's lives, SAP recognizes the dire need to support education and entrepreneurship for our nation's youth to ensure they are college and career ready," said Jennifer Morgan. "I'm thrilled to join the GENYOUth Board and get even closer to the important work we are doing together through AdVenture Capital to cultivate student social entrepreneurs and citizen philanthropists who will lead change in their schools and communities."
Appointed president of SAP North America in 2014, Morgan leads SAP's nearly 20,000 employees serving over 100,000 customers in 25 industries across the United States and Canada. She has more than 18 years of experience in developing, selling and implementing enterprise-wide technology solutions. Previously she was president of the Regulated Industries market unit for SAP North America.
Morgan, a native of Fairfax, Virginia, is a graduate of James Madison University (JMU) and serves on the Board of the National Academy Foundation and the Board of Advisors at JMU's College of Business.
