Jenner & Block Takes Home Chambers USA Award for Excellence in Media & Entertainment
LOS ANGELES, May 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Content, Media & Entertainment (CME) Practice of Jenner & Block won the Chambers USA Award for Excellence in Media & Entertainment, a prestigious honor that shines a "spotlight on the firms and individuals that have excelled above all others in the US legal market over the period 2013-14." Jenner & Block is noted as having "an outstanding reputation in the media and entertainment space, offering clients in the motion picture, television and music industries exceptional representation in precedent-setting litigation."
This marks the second time in three years that the CME Practice received the Chambers USA Award for Excellence in Media & Entertainment. The CME Practice was honored in 2012.
"We are honored and pleased to receive this award," said CME Practice Co-Chair Andrew H. Bart, who has successfully represented the music and film industries on numerous matters. "It reflects the team's dedication and commitment to the highest level of excellence. As a team of lawyers who specialize in copyright, trademark, first amendment, right of publicity, First Amendment and complex commercial litigation, rate setting proceedings, business strategy, copyright counseling, deal negotiations and virtually everything in between, we are all united by the same desire to help clients understand and navigate the challenges of the media and entertainment industries."
"We greatly appreciate this recognition by Chambers USA," said CME Practice Co-Chair Richard L. Stone, who has handled numerous matters on behalf of the television broadcast industry that could affect the future of the paid-advertising business model. "Our team understands the needs and issues facing our clients, including dramatic changes in technology, the law and business models, and this recognition by Chambers further reinforces our capabilities in serving the broad spectrum of content providers."
"To be recognized by Chambers is yet another testament to the strength of both the CME team and the firm as a whole," said Managing Partner Terrence J. Truax. "We are proud of our colleagues and look forward to bringing this momentum through the remainder of 2014, which has already been off to a strong start."
The award was presented on May 22 before more than 500 guests at the ninth annual Chambers Awards for Excellence in New York.
