Jekyll Island Club Hotel Announces New Concert Series
JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga., Aug. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Join us later this year or in 2012 for one (or more!) of the concerts we are offering in the second year of the Music and Merlot series. Concerts are presented by the Jekyll Island Club Hotel and the Jekyll Island Authority, benefitting the Jekyll Island Foundation. The Jekyll Island Foundation assists in preservation, conservation and education of the historical assets on Jekyll Island, a small barrier island off Georgia's southeastern coast.

We have put together a special package for each concert series throughout 2011 and 2012. The package includes accommodations, breakfast each morning in the Grand Dining Room, wine tasting reception/dinner** on Friday evening and concert tickets. November 19th brings two amazing songwriters, Richard Leigh and Archie Jordan, as they perform their award-winning songs the historic setting of the Jekyll Island Club Hotel's Morgan Center. In between songs, Richard and Archie will explain how they develop a song, what inspires them and the stories behind some of their widely recognized pieces.
Additional concerts will include music from the Franklin Pond Quartet, an enchanting chamber music performance by five members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra January 14, 2012 and the UGA Accidentals, An A Capella Evening on March 31, 2012. This a cappella ensemble from the University of Georgia, has been a glee Club tradition for over 30 years.
