Jehovah's Witnesses: Twenty Million Estimated to Attend Annual Event
NEW YORK, April 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- After sundown on Friday, April 3, 2015, Jehovah's Witnesses will observe the Memorial of Christ's death, an event that they consider to be the most important of the year. The commemoration includes a 45-minute public discourse entitled "Appreciate What Christ Has Done for You!" In the weeks leading up to this special occasion, the Witnesses have been engaging in a global campaign to invite their neighbors, friends, and family members to attend.
J. R. Brown, a spokesman for Jehovah's Witnesses at their world headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, states: "Last year, some 8 million Jehovah's Witnesses reached out to invite the public to the Memorial of Christ's death, and a total of nearly 20 million were in attendance. This year, we anticipate exceeding that number."
The event will be held in thousands of locations worldwide. Go to jw.org to find a location near you.
