While new to off-road racing trucks, Ox is no stranger to racing -- or to winning. Ox placed second at the 2010 Baja 500 in Class 22, took first place at the 2010 San Felipe 250 in Class 22, was a silver medalist at the Winter X Games for "Best Trick," was a WFA Big Air Points Champ and was the first person to complete a "Superman Seat-Grab Back Flip." And that's just recently -- Ox has been chalking up extreme wins and titles since 2001.
"Ox is definitely a natural born athlete. We were impressed with his performance during the testing of the tire on the Superlite trucks, and I am confident he will do well at Glen Helen," said Dana Zamalloa, manager of PR and communications, General Tire. "Ox is one of the personalities featured in our Grabber advertising, and we are excited to see him race on the same tires he uses on his Toyota Tundra!"
Born from the Baja, Tamed for the Streets
General's race-winning Grabber Competition tire has proven to be a champion of the desert, so General brought this advanced technology to every-day use with its new extreme-traction tire for the street and for off-road, the General Grabber. Ox plans to add the 2010 LOORRS events to his list of impressive victories with this cutting-edge tire, tuned for ultra-high performance.
"Our new General Grabber is the perfect tire for off-road enthusiasts who take their trucks on- and off-road," said Travis Roffler, director of marketing, General Tire. "It's specially engineered to take on the rigors of off-road competition, while still maintaining road manners and a comfortable ride."
A tough 3-ply reinforced-body construction and a race-proven chip- and tear-resistant Duragen tread compound stand up to the rigors of off-road conditions with the General Grabber. General Tire's Duragen technologies consist of ultra-high strength steel belts and a new 3-ply casing. The steel belts in one Grabber tire are strong enough to lift a trophy truck, and the ultra-durable micro-fiber 3-ply casing makes the Grabber the strongest General tire ever produced, and the ultimate tire to make dust soar at the 2010 LOORRS.
