JDRF Selects Altosoft's Insight to Uncover Key Information Via Dashboards
Finding and delivering critical information in seconds instead of hours or days without coding; enhancing JDRF's ability to focus resources to meet its research goals
NEW YORK, Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Altosoft, an innovator in the field of healthcare informatics and business intelligence, today announced that JDRF has completed its first implementation of Altosoft's Insight™ system at its headquarters here in New York City, and has moved into full production.
With more than 100 local chapters nationwide, JDRF identified the need for a standard platform to report and analyze data, from fundraising event results to research grants distributed around the world. Insight will help to increase the organization's efficiency and empower its chapters by making critical data and information readily available and easily accessible.
When James Szmak, JDRF's chief information officer, arrived at the organization, he saw a need to streamline JDRF's analysis and reporting system. "From a business perspective, we couldn't be as nimble as we needed to be," Szmak said. "We want to proactively provide our staff with the tools they need to measure success, so we needed to find a BI alternative that would enable us to easily access data and create dashboards from multiple sources without having to build costly and time-intensive data warehouses."
After a multi-vendor search, JDRF chose Altosoft's Insight. Its platform is designed to exceed performance and scalability requirements for even the largest enterprises, but its rapid implementation, cost effectiveness, low maintenance, and ease-of-use also make it ideal for departmental solutions, mid-sized businesses, and embedded/OEM applications. Insight can be installed on a single server or distributed across multiple computers for shared access and optimal performance.
"Insight blew us away with how easy it was to access data, translate into business terms, and build dashboards," Szmak continued. "With Insight, we have the flexibility to create new dashboards that will be appropriate for each and every level of the business—from the dashboard the CEO sees every morning when he comes in to the metrics that a local chapter staffer is using to ensure their fundraising event's success. All of the reporting will be consistent and tied to our organizational goals. We are very pleased with what we've been able to build to this point with Insight, and have high expectations that it will allow us to make better decisions about where we make investments, allocate people, and focus our time and attention."
