TULSA, Okla., Nov. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- JCJ Architecture today announces the firm has been selected to undertake design for a major expansion to the Choctaw Nation's existing resort property in Durant, Oklahoma. Building on an extensive portfolio of work in the regional market and national credentials in design for gaming and entertainment, JCJ will undertake the project alongside the design-builder, Tutor Perini Building Company, and design partner, Friedmutter Group. The planned expansion will significantly increase gaming capacity and will include a new 1,000 key hotel, parking garage, retail, conference center, restaurants, resort style pools and multiple entertainment venues.
"JCJ Architecture has worked with Choctaw Nation for over 10 years, it is an honor to have been selected to undertake this exciting new project," said Peter N. Stevens, LEED AP, President of JCJ Architecture. "Having worked most recently with the Nation on their Cultural Center, Wellness Center, Public Safety Headquarters, and Maintenance/Facilities Building, it is a testament to our strong relationship to have been selected for this new endeavor. I believe the creativity, experience and talent of this combined team will bring a truly leading edge property to the Oklahoma and Dallas/Fort Worth market as well as increased prosperity to the Choctaw Nation and the surrounding community."
The team will work alongside TynanGroup LLC, a national real estate development group selected as developer for the expansion. With design work beginning immediately, the project is expected to break ground in late spring of 2019 and be completed within 24 months.
