JBF Worldwide Hosts Exclusive Launch Event for We Are What We Eat Exhibition at the United Nations
NEW YORK, May 6, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Jack Brewer Foundation and the Permanent Mission of Malawi to the United Nations, in collaboration with independent curator Aaron Levi Garvey and with data provided by the New York Liaison Office to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to the United Nations are honored to present the We Are What We Eat exhibition launch event on May 6th, 2016 from 6:00-9:00pm to be held in the United Nations Headquarters Visitors' Lobby.
The We Are What We Eat exhibition presents the human right to food and the concept that the world is facing threats from both ends of the spectrum of food security and food safety, from the continuously high populations suffering from malnutrition, to the toxicity of many populations' overconsumption of unhealthy foods. We Are What We Eat is developed in conversation with the United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda Goal 2 to "End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture." The exhibition showcases artworks by artists from around the world, including: Liu Bolin (China), Vik Muniz (Brazil), Pepe López (Venezuela), Jim Draper (US), and Edward Burtynsky (Canada).
The We Are What We Eat launch event will begin with a panel discussion focused on food safety and security, with key speakers such as H.E. Ambassador Lot Dzonzi Deputy Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of Malawi to the United Nations, Jack Brewer, Sally Kader of the United Federation for Peacekeeping and Sustainable Development, Aaron Levi Garvey, and RiceBran Technologies CEO W. John Short. Attendees include JBF Global Ambassadors, Klein Sun Gallery, featured Global Artists including Liu Bolin, RiceBran Technologies, celebrity athletes and entertainers, United Nations Ambassadors, international diplomats, and more.
