Jay Kosminsky Joins Burson-Marsteller As Strategic Advisor
NEW YORK, Nov. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Burson-Marsteller, a leading global public relations and communications firm, today announced that Jay Kosminsky has joined the firm as a Strategic Advisor. Kosminsky brings more than 30 years of experience in public policy, issues and crisis, public affairs and corporate public relations to his role at Burson-Marsteller.

Kosminsky joins Burson-Marsteller from Johnson & Johnson, where he spent seven years as Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs for Johnson & Johnson's Consumer Group. In that role, he was responsible for worldwide media relations, organizational communications, brand public relations and public affairs for the consumer group and such well-known brands as Johnson's Baby, Neutrogena, Aveeno, Listerine and Tylenol. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, he held several senior management roles with Pfizer including Vice President, Communications Consumer Healthcare; Director, Corporate Communications; Director, Corporate Philanthropy; and Assistant Director, Policy Communications. Kosminsky earlier served as the Deputy Director of Foreign Policy and Defense Studies at The Heritage Foundation, where he specialized in national security policy and arms control. Before that, he was a press secretary to a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Kosminsky is the first appointment to Burson-Marsteller's newly formed U.S.-based Creative Council, which comprises creative and highly experienced people from a range of industries and backgrounds charged with bringing new thinking and new approaches to every client and business opportunity.

Kosminsky currently is an adjunct faculty member at New York University's School of Professional Studies, where he teaches a course on strategic communications. Earlier in his career, he was a Harvard University Fellow at the Center for Science and International Affairs. He also was a Lecturer in Political Science at Northeastern University, and a visiting scholar at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He earned a Bachelor of Science, Foreign Service, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
