Jawa Teams Up With the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale for Fundraising and Community Outreach Efforts
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Jawa, a leading software and interactive media firm, has selected the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale (BGCGS) as this month's 'Jawa Gives' charity recipient, dedicating funds and in-kind support to the organization. Already, Jawa has committed to sponsorship opportunities for BGCGS including this month's Uncorked & Unplugged, a premier food and wine-tasting event at Desert Ridge Marketplace on October 17, and Halos & Handbags, a spring "fashionistas only" event on April 9, 2011 at Grayhawk Golf Club benefiting youth development programs within the Scottsdale organization.
In addition to cash donations, Jawa will be hosting a group of kids from the Virginia G. Piper Branch at its offices this November. The kids, ranging in age from 12 to 14, will have the opportunity to learn about computer programming and web design from a group of Jawa staffers via an interactive presentation. While there, they will also have a chance to check out Jawa's game room and challenge any available Jawa employees to a game of ping pong, pool or foosball.
"As a Scottsdale-based company, Jawa prides itself on being very involved in our community, especially when it comes to supporting local kids and their families. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale has nine branches and 12 outreach sites in the greater Scottsdale area, catering to thousands of kids, which makes it the ideal organization to partner with. Jawa is proud to support their educational programs, giving kids the tools necessary to reach their full potential," said Jawa CEO, Jason Hope.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale joins a fantastic group of organizations that have received donations through 'Jawa Gives.' Most recently, Jawa has donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Phoenix, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix, the Sierra Club Grand Canyon Chapter, Phoenix Zoo, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Desert Mountain States Chapter, Donor Network of Arizona and Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix.
