Jawa Amps Up Charitable Giving for the Holidays by Adopting a Family Through the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Jawa, a leading software and interactive media firm, is pleased to announce its philanthropy work this holiday season with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale's Adopt-A-Family program.  Through BGCGS, Jawa adopted a family of eight with the hope of bringing them a little Christmas cheer.  Employee participation in the program was spearheaded by Jawa CEO Jason Hope, who encouraged his staff to give back and make their adopted family's Christmas a great one.  Gift requests were displayed on tags that hung on Jawa's Christmas tree, allowing employees to choose the gift they wished to purchase.  Employees were then responsible to wrap and tag the gift and then put it back under the tree.  

Said Jawa CEO, Jason Hope: "I'm extremely proud of my staff for coming together to help this family-in-need have a Merry Christmas.  There were over 50 gift tags placed on the tree and within 24 hours, all were taken.  You should have seen the tree once all the gifts were wrapped and under it; it looked as though Santa had come early!"  

On Thursday, December 16, a group of Jawa employees had the pleasure of bringing all the gifts to their adopted family; it took three cars and five employees to transport everything.  Jawa's decision to adopt a family was part of its employee-driven philanthropy program, 'Jawa Gives,' which allows employees to nominate individual charities that have positively affected their lives to receive a donation; a different charity being selected each month.
