Jason Boxt Joins Penn Schoen Berland as Executive Vice President in Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON, Sept. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Penn Schoen Berland (PSB), a global research-based consultancy, announced today that Jason Boxt has joined the firm as Executive Vice President to oversee the growth and development of the firm's corporate client base. He is based in Washington, D.C.
Boxt has worked in the public affairs and public opinion research spaces for nearly 20 years. His expertise lies in communications and digital research, reputation and brand management, message development and issues advocacy. In his new role he will partner closely with EVP and Head of Public Affairs Margie Omero to leverage PSB's political heritage on behalf of its corporate clients.
"Jason has the right blend of corporate, non-profit, and political research experience to fit perfectly with PSB's current and future business," said Curtis Freet, CEO of PSB, to whom Boxt will report. "In particular, his work in digital and social research aligns well with our work and the future direction of the company. We couldn't be happier to have Jason join our leadership team."
Before PSB, Boxt spent more than eight years at The Glover Park Group, a Washington, D.C.-based strategic communications firm, and for the last three and a half years he led its research and analytics team as Managing Director. During his tenure at GPG, Boxt helped develop communication and advocacy outreach strategies for clients such as the UN Foundation, PhRMA, the National Football League and the Gates Foundation, among others.
"PSB has always been the gold standard for quality strategic research and consulting," Boxt said. "In many ways, I feel like I've been training my entire career for this opportunity. PSB and I share a common vision for the role of research - providing clients with key, actionable insights using all forms of data, including both primary and secondary as well as digital research. I'm incredibly excited to join this remarkable team."
Before The Glover Park Group, Jason was the Director of National Advocacy at the Center for U.S. Global Engagement and, before that he served as National Deputy Political Director at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). In both roles, Boxt provided political guidance and cultivated "grass tops" advocacy, encouraging citizen activists to become involved in the political process.
Boxt began his career in public opinion research at Roper Starch in August of 1999, before joining Global Strategy Group in 2000. A native of South Carolina, Jason received his undergraduate degree in International Studies at the University of South Carolina and a Master's degree in Political Science from Columbia University.
Boxt's addition to the firm is the fourth executive hire for PSB this year. In addition to Omero, who joined PSB in May, Jack MacKenzie, EVP and Head of the Media and Entertainment practice, joined the firm in June and is based in Los Angeles. John McTernan, SVP and Head of International Political, will join the firm in October and will be based in London.
