Japan America Society of Southern California Begins a Second Century
LOS ANGELES, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Japan America Society of Southern California (JASSC) will begin a second century of building and nurturing a strong relationship between the U.S. and Japan. JASSC will celebrate its 101st Anniversary Dinner & Gala at Club Nokia in the LA LIVE entertainment district on Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Highlights of the evening will include the presentation of the Kokusai Shimin Sho International Citizens Award and a special theatrical performance by East West Players.
"Our Centennial Anniversary last year marked a fruitful century of success," said Douglas Erber, president of JASSC, "U.S. and Japan ties remain strong and JASSC is pleased to serve a key role in the exchange of business education, social events and cultural awareness." JASSC officially concluded its Centennial celebration on April 16, 2010 with a private reception in Tokyo at the official residence of The Honorable John V. Roos, U.S. Ambassador to Japan. Over 200 dignitaries and executives from the two countries were in attendance.
