WASHINGTON, March 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Working on a project in Korea for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Janus Global Operations (JGO) is helping to manage hazardous materials and waste at Camp Humphreys, a U.S. Army installation in South Korea.
JGO will provide hazardous waste and materials technical experts and support to Camp Humphreys' directorate of public works.
Camp Humphreys is about forty miles south of Seoul, and is "home to the Army's most active airfield (Desiderio Army Airfield) in the Pacific and the center of the largest construction and transformation project in the U.S. Department of Defense's history."
With the recent expansion of Camp Humphreys, the challenges associated with managing hazardous material and hazardous waste have increased and, as such, training programs have to keep pace to equip the installation to meet ever-changing environmental compliance requirements. The JGO training program will go beyond what is written in the regulations and provide personnel real world application information to lead the U.S. Army's efforts to enhance environmental quality and enable mission readiness.
Additionally, JGO will help reduce the installation's workload by providing personnel to perform the required assistance visits to the Hazardous Waste Accumulation Points and hazardous material storage sites required to achieve the highest level of compliance in the proper collection, handling, and disposal of hazardous wastes.
Janus Global Operations is an integrated stability operations company with thousands of employees serving clients in North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and South and East Asia.
