WASHINGTON, Oct. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second straight year, international stability operations company Janus Global Operations (Janus Global), has been ranked as America's 16th largest employee-owned company by the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO).
The NCEO is a national non-profit organization providing stock plans information, related costs, and other information to companies with, or considering, employee ownership.
Inclusion on the NCEO's Employee Ownership100 list, the NCEO says, calls for a company to be, "at least 50 percent owned by an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program) or other qualified plan or by one or more other kinds of plans in which at least 50 percent of full-time employees are eligible to participate. Employment includes all full- and part-time employees in the U.S. and worldwide."
The company has more than 700 employee-owners.
"Employee ownership has been a strong driver for the growth of Janus Global, which works with commercial and governmental clients throughout the world in challenging and sometimes dangerous environments," Kaye said.
Janus Global is the world's largest commercial demining company, conducting landmine and explosive ordnance clearance projects in former conflict zones. For example, Janus Global is carrying out the removal of tens of thousands of booby traps, improvised explosive devices, and other explosive threats placed by ISIS before it retreated from Ramadi and Mosul, Iraq.
The company also provides risk management; security; hazardous environment training for commercial client employees working in potentially dangerous areas; logistics; life support; and other integrated stability operations services.
"Employee ownership accomplishes two goals," Kaye added. "It's an individual motivator, and it gives Janus Global team members a personal stake in the company's performance, meeting our ethical standards, and living our values."
Two years ago Janus Global was No. 41 on the NCEO list, rising to 16th in 2016 and now duplicating that ranking in 2017.
Janus Global Operations is serving clients in North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Janus' services include munitions response; demining; intelligence support; logistics; life support; risk management; communications; and other services in some of the world's most challenging and hostile environments.
