NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas, Jan. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices are better, crowds are thinner and many summer destinations make great winter vacations, too. For example, New Braunfels is one of Texas' top tourist destinations. Summer often finds thousands cooling off in New Braunfels rivers and lakes. But winter offers the opportunity for new experiences.
Fishing
Whether you love fishing or have never fished before, the nearly 20,000 rainbow trout that are stocked in the Guadalupe River are a great incentive to try it.

Troutfest 2018, February 16-18, hosted at the Lazy L & L Campground by the largest chapter of Trout Unlimited in the country (5,500+ members) includes an Expo with fly-casting lessons, presentations by expert guides, outfitters, and gear manufacturers. There are women-focused events, on-water watercraft demos, kids events and a banquet featuring Trout Unlimited CEO Chris Wood.
