GULF BREEZE, Fla., Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is proud to announce that Jan P. Szatkowski, M.D., has joined their Orthopaedic Trauma & Fracture Care team of experts.

Dr. Szatkowski is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma surgeon who specializes in preventing or reducing permanent disability in the most complex orthopaedic cases. He joins Jason R. Rocha, M.D., and Leslie M. Barnes, M.D., in providing orthopaedic trauma and fracture care services at Baptist and Gulf Breeze hospital emergency departments. Dr. Szatkowski also will treat patients by appointment for orthopaedic needs such as post-traumatic arthritis, simple and complex fractures, revision surgery and joint replacement surgery at the Andrews Institute, 1040 Gulf Breeze Pkwy., in Gulf Breeze, Fla., and at Baptist Medical Towers, 1717 North "E" Street in Pensacola, Fla.

Dr. Szatkowski comes to us from Chicago, where he was previously the chairman of orthopaedics at one of the busiest trauma centers in the country, John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Dr. Szatkowski completed a fellowship at Campbell Clinic's Level 1 Trauma Center at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
