James R. Wigand to Join Millstein & Co. as Partner

NEW YORK and WASHINGTON, Oct. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Millstein & Co., a financial advisory firm that develops solutions for complex corporate and public finance problems, today announced that it has hired James R. Wigand ("Jim"), a seasoned financial services executive, to join Millstein & Co. as Partner, effective immediately.

Mr. Wigand most recently served as Director, Office of Complex Financial Institutions of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation ("FDIC") where his responsibilities included developing the Government's approach to the resolution of so called "systemically important financial institutions" under Dodd-Frank and assisting in the FDIC's resolution of a number of such institutions during the recent financial crisis. Mr. Wigand will join Millstein & Co. as a Partner in its financial institutions advisory practice.

During his career, Mr. Wigand held a variety of executive positions at the FDIC and at the Resolution Trust Corporation, directing the Corporation's resolution of failing financial institutions, supervising asset sales, capital markets transactions, loan restructurings and asset management programs.  Mr. Wigand holds a MBA in finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a BS from the University of Maryland.
