James J. Balaschak named lay member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' Board of Directors
SAN DIEGO, March 17, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Business consultant James J. Balaschak "Jim" was appointed lay member to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Board of Directors today at the organization's 2017 Annual Meeting.
Balaschak is a retired partner at Deloitte with more than 30 years of U.S. and international experience in Russia, Eastern Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East. During his career, he managed an extensive portfolio of energy sector clients in oil and gas, power and utilities, clean technology and alternative energy. He is a thought leader in energy with more than 200 public speaking engagements and publications. Balaschak also is an active civic participant on numerous professional, cultural and civic boards and holds two U.S. patents for nuclear plant applications.
He received a Bachelor of Science in engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Business Administration in finance and economics from Tulsa University in Tulsa, Okla. Balaschak also attended the Harvard University Extension School for Russian language.
Balaschak resides in Philadelphia and is an avid golfer, golf rules official and guitarist.
