HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- James B. Bramson, D.D.S., of Hinsdale, Ill., has been named chief dental officer for national dental insurer United Concordia.
In this position, Dr. Bramson will oversee the company's professional relations department, professional quality assurance activities, utilization review, claims review process and clinical aspects of product offerings and communications. He will also work closely with local offices on regulatory issues, membership development, subscriber expectations and help develop proposals for major clients, customers, shareholders and business partners.

Prior to joining United Concordia, Dr. Bramson was president of Bramson & Company, a strategic consulting firm for the health care industry, helping both for-profit and not-for-profit clients identify and analyze professional market trends, develop go-to market strategies and maximize professional business/membership opportunities.
From 2001-2008, Dr. Bramson was executive director for the American Dental Association (ADA) and secretary for the ADA Foundation, where he helped improve access to children's oral health care by creating the first-ever, national award-winning Give Kids a Smile Day. During his tenure, the ADA was also named one of the nine most remarkable associations in the book, "7 Measures of Success."
Dr. Bramson began his career in private practice, leaving for a Hillebrand Fellowship with the American Fund for Dental Health and ADA in 1986. After his fellowship, he held a number of positions within the ADA before becoming chief executive officer and board member for the Massachusetts Dental Society from 1997-2001.
