EMERYVILLE, Calif., May 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Jamba, Inc. (NASDAQ: JMBA), a leading healthy, active lifestyle brand, today announced its partnership with DanceOn, the premier digital destination and No. 1 network on YouTube exclusively dedicated to dance entertainment. Co-founded by Madonna, and attracting the talent of So You Think You Can Dance creator Nigel Lythgoe, DanceOn will help Jamba Juice tap into an influential audience of fans passionate about health and fitness. Together they will execute a digital campaign to inspire millions across the U.S. to participate in the "Blend in the Good™" summer dance movement.
With the support of celebrity choreographer Brian Friedman, Jamba Juice is kicking-off its summer "Blend in the Good™" Dance Video Contest. From now until August 31st, the online contest will encourage dance enthusiasts to submit unique videos that show how they "Blend in the Good™" in their own life through dance. One lucky winner will be selected each month to receive a trip for two to a premiere dance experience estimated at $2,500, as well as have their winning video featured and promoted across the DanceOn and Jamba Juice networks. Prizes include a trip to New York to see a Broadway show (June); a trip to Hollywood for a behind the scenes experience at a taping of So You Think You Can Dance (July); a trip to San Francisco to attend a premiere dance event (August). Each winner will also receive a $100 Jamba Juice gift card to continue to "Blend in the Good™" all year long.
Brian Friedman and the 8 Flavahz Crew opened the contest today with its first official video, showing the world how they, too, "Blend in the Good™" on YouTube.
The partnership will also include a special Jamba Juice appearance in an upcoming episode of DanceOn's popular celebrity docu-series, The Edge, where the juice leader will fuel the show's dancers with Jamba Juice freshly squeezed juices and smoothies made with whole fruits and vegetables, as they put their talent on display. The Edge offers a riveting, behind-the-scenes look into the lives of the gifted dancers who perform with the most iconic entertainers in the world. With past episodes spotlighting Madonna, David Guetta and Justin Bieber, the next episode will air in July and the featured artist will be revealed at that time.
"DanceOn and Jamba Juice both have a core fan base of people who like to have fun and are motivated by healthy living - that alone makes this partnership a perfect one," said Julie S. Washington, senior vice president and chief brand officer of Jamba Juice. "We're looking forward to tapping into the passionate dancers on YouTube and their engaged online communities. Through original programming like The Edge, as well as a co-branded competition driving user-generated content, Jamba Juice will be a part of conversations that matter to them."
"Dancers, just like music artists, actors, or athletes, are some of the biggest influencers in today's culture, known not only for their impressive moves, but also for their commitment to physical fitness," said Amanda Taylor, Founder and CEO of DanceOn. "We're thrilled to partner with the Jamba Juice brand and spread the 'Blend in the Good™' message to some of the most dynamic talent in the industry."
