OTTAWA, Ontario, Jan. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacques Lavoie is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional as a result of his role as Senior General Counsel with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.

In 2004, Jacques was appointed by Justice Canada as General Counsel to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission's (CNSC) Legal Services Division. Following an assignment with Public Safety Canada, he rejoined the CNSC team in 2008, as Senior General Counsel, and was tasked by the President to create an in-house legal service independent from Justice Canada.

Over the last 27 years, he has gained extensive experience in law, policing and the administration of justice in British Columbia, Quebec and Ontario, through his work with Public Safety Canada, Justice Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), the Canada Firearms Centre and the Department of National Defense (DND).

Jacques has studied Law at the University of Sherbrooke in Québec and Criminology at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia and is a graduate of the University of Montpellier, France in International Nuclear Law. Jacques is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association.
