SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Utah ASTD chapter revealed a new thought leadership award at their conference this year. Among the many world-renowned training and development companies in Utah and dozens of quality authors and speakers, the first-time award recipient is Dr. Jack Zenger, the ASTD announced on October 10, 2013.

Dr. Jack Zenger is honored to be selected as the inaugural award recipient and said, "My lifelong interest in leadership development began with my childhood observations about how new leaders influenced the functions of the hospital where my father worked as an administrator."
Since then his career has combined entrepreneurial, corporate and academic activities. He has founded three training development firms including Zenger-Miller, named The Wall St. Journal top 10 supplier of executive development, and is currently the CEO of Zenger Folkman. He served as VP of Human Resources for Syntex Corporation, and was a Group VP of the Times Mirror Corporation. He also served on the faculty of University of Southern California and has taught at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Jack is a bestselling author who also shares his research as a contributor to Forbes and Harvard Business Review. His cutting-edge ideas and research have been broadcast and published in The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, CBS News, Fox News, NPR and CLO.
The Utah ASTD award plaque is red sandstone to represent the southern Utah landscape. On the back is an ancient hieroglyphic that stands for leadership.
