Jabra Steps Up to Gold Sponsor of Annual Microsoft World Partner Conference
TORONTO, July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jabra, a world leader in developing and manufacturing hands-free communications solutions, announced today that the Company has signed on as a gold sponsor of Microsoft Corp.'s Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC). Jabra's commitment to unified communications, continued innovation, and the industry's widest portfolio of hands-free devices, propelled the company to take a larger role in the annual conference. Jabra's suite of unified communications (UC) solutions, optimized for Microsoft Lync, will be highlighted at the WPC (July 8-12, Toronto) in Booth #1437.
"Device manufacturers that share our common mission are extremely valuable to our continued leadership," stated Giovanni Mezgec, General Manager for Lync at Microsoft. "Jabra's continued innovation and broad portfolio of unified communications headsets help give our business users the tools that they need to easily communicate, and we are thrilled to have them sign on as an integral part of our annual conference."
"We are proud to make a bigger commitment to Microsoft as a leader in unified communications," said Mogens Elsberg, CEO, Jabra. "We are dedicated to the development of industry-leading, innovative solutions that make mobile working easier than ever before with a suite of products that lead in comfort, sound and durability."
The mobile worker is a key stakeholder when implementing unified communications solutions. According to a recent survey done by Jabra and Frost and Sullivan*, seven out of ten respondents agree that the mobile worker is the early adopter of UC tools and effectively leverages UC in the field. The study shows that companies believe that effective UC deployments can empower workers to be productive from any location. The benefit of teleworking from home and the ability to achieve a better work/life balance are being emphasized in the survey by employers as means to attract and retain top talent. Furthermore over 60% of organizations agree that headsets help to drive UC adoption and that implementing the appropriate audio devices can significantly enhance the user experience as the employees' access and utilize their communications tools.
Jabra is ahead of the curve with a wide portfolio of hands-free devices that support Unified Communications. Two recent product additions to Jabra's Unified Communications portfolio, the Jabra Supreme UC and the Jabra UC Voice 750, will be showcased at the WPC event.
SUPREME UC
Following the introduction of the Jabra SUPREME last year, the first non-stereo headset to incorporate Active Noise Cancellation, the Jabra SUPREME UC expands the capabilities of the original product to work with Microsoft Lync and Skype applications. The headset also works exceptionally for traditional calls with mobile phones, as well as for communicating and collaborating with tablet devices. The Jabra SUPREME UC comes equipped with a nano, pre-paired Bluetooth® USB adapter, making it possible to connect to PCs and use the headset for UC supported calls or traditional mobile phone calls. Users can stay connected to two devices, switching easily between mobile and UC calls with the simple push of a button.
UC VOICE™ 750
A corded Unified Communications headset, the UC Voice 750 Series is optimized for Microsoft Lync, making it easy to plug in and begin working immediately. The design is lightweight, so employees can wear it all day and still be comfortable, and it comes with its own travel pouch, making it portable for employees to easily move between workstations or offices. The UC Voice headset simply makes employees' lives easier and is available in two color models, so there's even room for personal expression.
At WPC 2012, Jabra will focus on and display UC products for the mobile worker, the office, the contact center and the virtual/home segment in booth #1437.
*The survey was conducted by Jabra and Frost & Sullivan in June 2012. 302 IT managers in Great Britain, Germany, France, the U.S. Australia and Japan were surveyed; all had implemented Unified Communications in their organizations. The complete survey results will be released in installments over the remainder of 2012.
