SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- izmocars, the only virtual reality provider in auto with a robust silo of VR content available now, will be sharing the future of retailing with dealers when they bring their virtual reality solution, izmoVR, to the National Automotive Dealer's Association (NADA) Conference, January 26-29, 2017 in New Orleans. izmoVR will be on display with vehicles ready for attendee's virtual customization and driving enjoyment.
Virtual reality is exploding with Kzero estimating 28 million people could be paying for virtual reality content and hardware by 2018, up from 4.8 million early adopters this year. With the price of the necessary equipment coming down and the technology vastly improved, virtual reality is no longer out of reach at the dealership level.
"It's no longer a question of 'how' the auto industry will use virtual reality in showrooms, but rather 'how soon,'" said Tej Soni, Founder of izmocars. "Just like in the early days of app development for the iPhone, the technology is available now, but the content coming from most providers has yet to catch up."
izmocars is the only VR provider in automotive with the necessary, high-quality content needed to engage customers and bring them into showrooms using virtual reality. NADA attendees who sign up for a demo of izmoVR will don a pair of Oculus goggles, select their favorite of the virtual vehicles, add accessories, change colors, and of course, inspect the vehicle inside and out as if they were in an actual showroom.
"This year we're really focusing on showing the industry everything you can do with virtual reality. Drivers will be able to change vehicle accessories to find the right look, determine key factors like trunk space and safety features, and take a virtual ride. The opportunities for VR in auto are endless," said Soni.
Along with izmocar's early investment into creating the world's first true CGI model library, the company has developed a Virtual Reality Platform (izmoVR) that significantly shortens the development lifecycle of VR products for automotive companies. The platform gives izmocars the ability to rapidly deliver virtual reality products for OEMs, dealers, advertising agencies, and others at a lower cost than any other provider in the market today.
