GLENVIEW, Ill., May 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE: ITW) today announced that its Board of Directors has elected David Parry a vice chairman of ITW. In his new role, he will continue to oversee the Company's polymers & fluids segment with additional responsibility over the test & measurement businesses.
Mr. Parry, 56, joined ITW in 1994 as general manager of ITW Devcon following a 17-year career with a U.K. chemical company. After several roles, including group president of performance polymers, he was named executive vice president in 2006 with responsibility for the global polymers & fluids businesses. He holds a series of advanced degrees in chemistry from Manchester University.
"David has a proven track record of success and has led the polymers & fluids segment in consistent global growth over the years. In less than 10 years, the segment's revenue has more than tripled through a combination of both acquisitions and organic growth," said David B. Speer, chairman and chief executive officer. "His promotion now gives us three vice chairmen who will continue to play a critical role in the strategies and direction of ITW in the years ahead." Tom Hansen and Scott Santi continue to serve as the Company's other vice chairmen.
