Bar Louie To Host Annual Tater Tot Eating Contest
ADDISON, Texas, June 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, June 7th Bar Louie locations around the country will host their annual "Rock the Tot" tater tot eating contest. The contest will be broken into two parts, team relay races and the solo race. Each location will begin their relay race at 8 pm, followed immediately by the solo race to crown their local "Rock the Tot" champion. All festivities are leading up to a night of live entertainment and celebration.
The relay race teams will consist of four persons lined up with one pound of tater tots in front them. At the sound of the buzzer, the first team member will eat their pound of tots as fast as they can. The second team member will start their pound when the first team member as finished, and so on. The team to finish their four pounds of tots in the quickest time wins four "Rock the Tot" champions t-shirts and free tots for a year at Bar Louie.
Solo competitors will face off in a challenge to eat as many tater tots possible in six minutes. Contestants are allowed to have any drink of their choice during that time. At the end of the six minutes a winner will be determined and declared the "Rock the Tot" champion. All winners will be declared locally, with BL Restaurant Operations, LLC verifying the results after the local competitions are completed.
Local solo winners will be rewarded with more than just bragging rights. All local champions will receive a $250 Bar Louie gift card, a complimentary VIP party for up to twenty friends, a champion trophy, t-shirt and free tater tots for one year!
The top five local winners will then head off to Cleveland, OH to attend the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and compete against each other at Bar Louie Cleveland for the ultimate title of "Rock the Tot" national champion. The national champion will receive a $500 cash prize and free tator tots for life.
Almost 250,000 tater tots were consumed nationwide during last year's competition. The overall national champion consumed 5lbs 4oz of tater tots in six minutes.
Registration is going on now at all local Bar Louie locations and online at barlouieamerica.com and facebook.com/barlouieamerica. Participants should arrive early no later than 7:30 pm and are encouraged to bring fans, and get creative with costumes.
