It's AES67 On The Wire At Wheatstone Booth C755, NAB 2015
NEW BERN, N.C., April 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For a demonstration of AES67, broadcasters are heading over to the Wheatstone booth this NAB where they can see a fully integrated studio network complete with automation, control surfaces, mics, audio processing, and STL delivery — all working together in a fully interoperable studio network.
Wheatstone's WheatNet-IP audio network for radio and television was one of the first to attain AES67 compatibility soon after the interoperability standard was ratified in 2013.
An end-to-end broadcast studio system comprising audio consoles, routing, mixing, processing, silence detection, logic control and widespread integration with third-party vendors, WheatNet-IP is the only distributed network to include audio resources such as mixing and processing at IP nodes or access points in the network.
To demonstrate AES67 at its booth C755, the company will stream audio from an AES67 compatible soundcard through the WheatNet-IP audio network with automation integration by four of the major play out systems and through Tieline's Genie codec and distribution system.
WheatNet-IP I/O BLADEs, or access points in the network, support AES67 compliant devices using the IEEE 1588 PTP grandmaster clock for synchronizing to and ingesting/streaming AES67 compliant packets.
The WheatNet-IP audio network is a fully integrated system with more than 50 technology vendors and brand partners, ranging from automation playout to transmission, including Tieline, Eventide, RCS, WideOrbit, OMT/MediaTouch, and ENCO.
Wheatstone was part of the AES task force that brought the AES67 standard to ratification in 2013.
