Italtel Partners With Telecom Italia for Specialist Assistance Activities on its Network Equipment

Italtel has been assigned the project for specialist maintenance and refitting activities of fixed and mobile network equipment over a three-year period

The "Multivendor" Project was put out to tender by Telecom Italia and aims to create a single point of contact for ongoing network maintenance and refitting. Italtel was chosen due to its specialist knowledge and experience, enabling the repair and refit of the many different technologies installed.

Two essential components are included in the services provided by Italtel:
- A single point of contact available 24 hours a day and seven days a week to fix any problem which occurs on the network. Italtel has to identify the appropriate technology partner in relation to the context, for example, fixed network, mobile access or transport and fix the issue within the terms of the contract (SLA).
- A management service for repairs for which Italtel has established a logistics process that speeds up the removal of equipment, shipping it to the appropriate repair company and redelivery. A specific information system has also been designed.
Italtel provides a full suite of professional services for telephone operators and can tailor solutions to meet individual business requirements in areas including Core Mobile, Mobile Intelligent Network, Mobile Access (GSM, UMTS, LTE), Switching, Smart Fixed Network, Optical Transport (DWDM) and traditional (SDH) and Fixed Broadband and Ultra Broadband Access.
