MILAN, March 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Alcantara underlined its position as the industry's premier of luxury automotive interior materials with a presence on some of the hottest new-model reveals and the most exclusive sports cars at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
Ferrari unveiled the most anticipated street-legal race car at the Geneva show, the Ferrari 488 Pista. The performance-focused version of the Ferrari 488 GTB, the 488 Pista's race-themed interior styling combined Alcantara with carbon fiber trim. Bucket seats were upholstered in Alcantara for grip, breathability, comfort and support.
The car's integrated headrests featured an embroidered Ferrari logo in Alcantara with contrasting double side-stitching. Alcantara also was used on the upper door panels, center tunnel, headliner and pillars and dashboard.
Alcantara added a personalized touch to two of the world's most powerful supercars, the Bugatti Chiron Sport and the McLaren Senna.
The 1,500 horsepower Bugatti's interior showcased Alcantara in combination with leather and carbon fibre to give the door panels, steering wheel and gear shift a coordinated look. Alcantara also was used on the side trim of the Chiron Sport's seats.
Equally noteworthy was the snug interior of the McLaren Senna, which featured Alcantara on its dashboard, steering wheel and headliner. The minimalistic race-car seat cushions were upholstered in Alcantara and fixed to composite shells.
Audi selected the Italian-made luxury material for the fifth generation of its Audi A6, which featured door panels in Alcantara. Pininfarina also selected Alcantara, for its H2 Speed concept car by using the material on the show car's dashboard and seating.
In addition, the Lamborghini Super SUV Urus and the ultra-fast Huracan Spyder Performante were equipped with Alcantara. The Urus' interior offered Alcantara for a variety of applications.
