Attend an Educational Webinar: Resumes 2017: Telling Your Story and Getting the Job
Are resumes still relevant? Should you send a video? Why aren't you getting any traction? And for employers, why do resumes sometimes lack the information employers need to make a decision? Resumes 2017, presented by Jeff Lareau and Nicole Maseberg of CompTIA's Creating IT Futures Foundation on November 9 at Noon CT, explores what is new and emerging in technical resumes and crucial elements for resumes today. Attendees will learn the importance of applicant tracking systems, the golden zone of the resume, what is different in an IT resume, the role LinkedIn plays in the process and when to use an infographic or video resume. Register for the webinar at: http://tinyurl.com/jsolljn.
Submit Resumes for Feedback
Are you struggling to get traction with your resume? Not looking for a job, but want to make sure you know how to present yourself? Would you like feedback on your resume? Submit it to [email protected] between November 9 and November 30.
Gather Resume Feedback via LinkedIn
All identifying information from the resumes submitted in part two will be scrubbed, and the resumes will be posted on LinkedIn. Throughout December, AWIT will post one resume a day on LinkedIn. A group of HR/hiring professionals will use the comments section of LinkedIn to provide feedback on that resume. Join the AWIT LinkedIn group to participate and learn. Search for CompTIA Advancing Women in IT Community and ask to join https://www.linkedin.com/groups/4266775.
