ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- After reaching an all-time high in January, the pace of IT job growth accelerated in February doubling January's rate of growth.
In February, the number of IT jobs grew by 23,000 or 0.6 percent sequentially to 4,127,700, according to TechServe Alliance, a collaboration of IT services firms, clients, consultants and suppliers. Since February 2011, IT employment grew by more than 100,000 jobs or 2.5 percent.
"After reaching an all-time high in January, February's accelerating rate of growth in IT employment is further confirmation of our earlier projections that demand for IT professionals would remain strong for the foreseeable future," stated Mark Roberts, CEO of TechServe Alliance. "Based on the data and the anecdotal reports of my member companies, there is clearly 'war for talent' underway in the high-demand IT skill sets. Companies that fail to adjust to this changing landscape will find it increasingly difficult to meet their IT staffing needs," commented Roberts.
